Nobody on this board was privvy to the conversations between the club and Johnson's representatives and nobody knows exactly what information was disclosed.
We do know Johnson lied to the police in his statements as he admitted that in court. Therefore his statements weren't even a true reflection of his version of the events.
Fuck Johnson, fuck the tabliods, I'm backing my club.

Hang on, she could have committed a gross error of judgement, one that leaves an extraordinarily sour taste, and you're surprised the media are going after her?
It's statements like yesterday's that have induced such a reaction as it was seen by many as an arrogant attempt to pull the wool over people's eyes.
He's not. He committed a crime and has rightly been found guilty/will be punished. This shit storm is not about his actions - it's about the actions of, and decisions made by, the club.

By now I'm assuming that the people who were last night claiming that the club knew nothing will be seeing this as a media conspiracy against us.
Soon enough it will be followed by hysterical criticism of anyone who criticises the club's incompetence and lack of ethics.
In the background they will be swotting up on any book on ethics they can find, to try and justify the club's actions.
It's like the reaction to the appointment of Paolo Di Canio all over again.

It's not just about that now though. All people seem to want is the club to distance themselves from allegations made during the trial and they are clearly refusing to do it.
I'll still go, I'll still pay money but fuck me, I don't get the incessant need to defend anything associated with the football club. People are allowed to think otherwise. The clubs position and defence just doesn't make any sense, nobody would let these allegations and reporting continue when it can be denied with a 2 line denial.
