The court heard testimony from Johnson and a statement by his QC that Johnson admitted guilt to at least one offence to Margaret Byrne in a meeting with her in May 2015. The QC's statement also alleges that she had a transcript of Johnson's police interview in which he admitted guilt to at least one offence, and that she had a transcript of the WhatsApp messages which gave further evidence of his guilt.

This testimony and court record is the basis for the public discussion of whether the club knew what Johnson had done and continued selecting him for the team regardless.

The club's statement does not address these issues. They do not deny that Johnson admitted anything to Margaret Byrne. They do not deny seeing information in the documents that indicated his guilt (they say that documents were made available and given to the QC which is not the same thing). They spend a lot of time talking about whether he was going to plead guilty and whether they knew what the outcome of the trial would be, which is not relevant.

Time and again this is being raised. All over the world's media as well as on here. Time and again no response is being provided.

Why the fuck would Johnson go in to Byrnes office and admit anything?? I'm sure his lawyers were all very happy he was admitting guilt to anyone who would listen....

You've had an agenda from day one that she is above criticism, and now it's turned out she seems to have misjudged things severely, can you not bring yourself to admit it?

Despite cheering on a man who impregnanted a thirteen yearold (fact) in a country where the age of consent is 16 (another fact).

At least Johnson was decent. Cisse is horse shit.

Both meetings would be for different purposes and Byrne was only present at the second meeting for part of the time,

the first meeting and I presume here was because Johnson was on bail and able to go to work. The police probably went to the club to advise briefly of the allegations against Johnson. This would be done to ensure that he was not involved in any community work etc which would put another child in danger or put him in a situation where it was likely for him to reoffend.

Knowing how the videos of child victims are protected and have to be signed for and signed when viewed, I cannot get my head round that a barrister would hand out a full transcript of that video. The victim was interviewed at least twice

I can't remember if it is @Sima or @midds that has the official refutal of this claim which apparently only gets aired on here and nowhere else.
 
Maybe I've missed this, and you all know, but Sky News have just said that adidas have cancelled their contract with Adam Johnson (we knew that bit) and "have confirmed to Sky that they are talking to the club about the club's sponsorship deal"
