Adam Johnson Trial Verdict

It doesn't fail to answer anything.

I agree with these sentiments, people with too much time on their hands, just get on with your life people

He pleaded guilty and they f***ing sacked him, and now he is going to jail.

End of story.

The main allegation was that the club knew that AJ kissed a 15 year old girl.

Please show me where in that statement, the club deny this.

Don't agree. They should have acted responsibly. Failing to answer the allegations directly means that the waters and cloudy. The seriousness of the matter demand, total transparency. We havnt achieved that will the statement. Hence the follow up.
Don't agree with what? That the club were in a no win situatioin? Its as clear as day they weren't due to the horrible position that fucker put them in.

Again, nobody is disputing any of this.
We knew all of this anyway. The club's statement cleverly ignores the question of "Did they know he was guilty (they had evidence that clearly showed he was guilty) and yet played him anyway?

The club will get slaughtered over the coming days. The club knew what was said in court, they know what the press are like.
Yet they failed to mention this in their statement. Why?

The concern of many fans is that it is because they knew all along. The club needs to address this issue and answer this question or none of this will go away.

My concern is that they aren't answering the question because the allegation is true. Like a politician trying to issue a statement that says nothing.

I hope I'm wrong!

Exactly. Why??

It won't though ........ even the most rabid 'legal experts' and conspiracy theorists are even starting to bore themselves.

If the club believe they've said all they need to then they won't be coming out every time a few internet warriors stamp their feet.

I'm sure there will be a handful who keep droning on but, at the Palace match, I didn't hear people mention it.
I'll be at Southampton and doubt whether it'll be a blazing topic of conversation there either.

If people are so concerned they'll write to the club directly ........ in reality they'll do nothing more than blather on here.

Read the statement, they deny knowing anything of his guilt

I don't even see how if they did, it has any baring on anything, he might have said it any sort of way to them, he didn't know she was 16 etc, no point going into every detail

The statement clears it up, and why people want to go into every detail accusing the club all sorts I have no idea, it sums this place up

He pleaded guilty, and they sacked him immediately

They did everything by the letter of the law, after talking to the PFA and to legal advisors, yet you and other experts on here no better obviously.

Exactly, people think this place matters, it doesn't, I will be at Soton too, and I can't imagine anyone will be discussing it much.

They will be wanting N'Doye dropped for Borini or something, no the finer points of the English legal system. its complete bollocks man.

Which either way you fall on the did they didn't they read them, they either didn't and showed complete incompetence of the highest f***ing order, or did and allowed him to continue to play knowing he'd be fucked come trial. Either way safc and the people running the show over the sol come out looking like amateurs many of us have been saying they are for sometime. Someone has to be held accountable on the way the club handeled this whole situation as they've dragged the name of the club and its supporters through the f***ing mud.

That's all I want. Accountability.

Absolute load of shite, sorry, but that is.

I know I'm thick, but,is it the suggestion that Johnson told them he was guilty, but was going to plead not guilty, and they took advantage of this in order to play him so as not to weaken the team?

In a nutshell yes. The stuff that came out in court, and that is now plastered over the papers, is that even though he said he would plead not guilty, the evidence the club had clearly indicated that he was in fact guilty of at least two charges. So how he intended to plead is not relevant.
Maybe the stuff in court is not true??
But that's what everyone wanted the club to say.
