Adam Johnson Trial Verdict

i would suggest its not just London, when i said trial of public opinion and media, i was also referring to the rest of the united kingdom as well, fans of other clubs your general person in the street who has no interest in football will no doubt also have there say.
And ?

But the statement actually says fuck all.

It doesn't defend the majority of statements that Johnson made regarding them knowing he had admitted some of the charges and that they had access to police statements and the whatsapp messages.
It only says they didn't know he was going to change his plea to guilty.
It's a shocker of a statement and leaves them open to questions about their incompetence and mishandling of this whole sorry affair.

If the club had sacked him, suspended him that would be big news. That could sway a jury.

Personaly i think ajs legal team has played a cunning hand. Safc cant speak/ act out until its over. If they did the club is guilty of swaying jurors

End of day, hes a f***ing idiotic arrogant asshole who will serve a custodial sentence. I only feel pity for his ex and his daughter

Yeah true, just needed to have a rant there. I don't even believe that they all think Sunderland did anything wrong

But now the trial is over, they have to extend the story, to they get every last word out of it. I work for a newspaper in London, so I know it only to well unfortunately.

They preach the moral stuff, but they don't really care about it, just sells more newspaper and gets more click bait.

No I'm not.

But unlike you, I won't go out of my way to defend the club when they have fucked up.

The way you go on would make people think you are actually an employee of the club on here to "protect them" at all costs.

You think they have fucked up, I DON'T, so I am not defending them from anything.

He's not a paedo (legal definition aside) - he's a stupid boy that should have known better. Hopefully a lesson for his peers. Sad.
Even without the lesson I think his peers already knew.

I've seen posts about other footballers being thick or Steven Fletcher liking a drink or "the rotten core" as if it's connected at all. I don't think that's fair.

Now you're being ridiculous. There's plenty of very sensible posters on here defending the club over this, and I doubt any of them work for the club.

Clearly some of these kids (athletes pampered from childhood) think they are beyond the law. The lesson is that they are not (I agree that in most cases it will not be needed - but he is not the first by a long way).
