Adam Johnson Trial Verdict

I feel like most the people saying 'read the club response' haven't actually read the club response.

The allegation made in court was that the club 1) knew that Johnson was saying he kissed the girls months ago and 2) Had the whatsapp messages.

The club say 'they didn't know he was pleading guilty' - that isn't what was alleged. What was alleged was that the club knew he was pleading not guilty DESPITE the fact he was admitting kissing the girl and DESPITE the content of the whatsapp messages.

The issue isn't whether Johnson said to the club he was pleading not guilty - the issue is whether they knew other stuff. And they don't answer that - all they say is they received 'some documents'.

The club are going to have to enlarge on this crucial point.

I haven't claimed it's me. I just find people going out their way to defend the club silly and I genuinely don't see why. Just because we give them £400+ a year it doesn't mean they care about us. I have said things how I see them but that's it. I will not be writing letters, I will not be
Boycotting or demanding answers.

I just think they haven't helped themselves at all and will get lots of shit.

What's surprising about some people defending the club that they love? You have a particular opinion, others have another. One will be right. You speak with fact that the club definitely have done wrong, as opposed to speculating.

If the club could of it would have killed all of this in thd club statement. The fact it hasn't speaks volumes and it says it won't be releasing anything else on the subject. Get your head out the sand.

I'm not really thinking one way or another. I'm purely playing devil's advocate as some are convinced the club have done wrong, whereas others are not. Hopefully we'll get definitive answer, and if it is proved so, someone is made accountable and dealt with appropriately.

Without going into who is lying and who isn't, what I can't understand is why he would tell the club he was guilty but wait until the trial to plead guilty.

Surely the club couldn't sack him as he pled not guilty and anything else would mean they were prejudicing the jury

No he and his lawyers said he'd fight all the charges. Well according to the statement.
