Statement is pretty clear. Got to take them on what they've put down on paper - they're not going to risk the wrath of public exposure for lying. Shitty situation. move on.

You keep saying this...he isn't the only person saying this but you are ignoring that. You don't think it's a big coincidence the club fail to address the allegations?

Spot on, not sure why anyone believes him over the club tbh. Hes lied all along, hope he rots for 10 years for what hes done

The club were always in a lose lose position.

Fletcher and Wickham did literally nothing wrong, Fletch was supposed to be called in as an Adam Johnson's Ball Hair Witness (jesus christ) and Wickham told the police the girl liked his pictures on Instagram or whatever.

I feel horrible for our players really. The Secret Footballer article where he says he would have guessed it was four or five other people before Johnson? The pedophile songs up and down the country? Having to learn that about a "friend?"

You're just completely wrong, there. Why would it be okay to pay a contract off but not suspend with pay? What would happen to a teacher, a doctor, a policeman up for those allegations?

Suspend with pay would be the norm.
 
I feel like most the people saying 'read the club response' haven't actually read the club response.

The allegation made in court was that the club 1) knew that Johnson was saying he kissed the girls months ago and 2) Had the whatsapp messages.

The club say 'they didn't know he was pleading guilty' - that isn't what was alleged. What was alleged was that the club knew he was pleading not guilty DESPITE the fact he was admitting kissing the girl and DESPITE the content of the whatsapp messages.

The issue isn't whether Johnson said to the club he was pleading not guilty - the issue is whether they knew other stuff. And they don't answer that - all they say is they received 'some documents'.

I know I keep saying it but I also keep saying I know how Courts and courtrooms work, I've given evidence for hours on end under cross examination, the barrister manipulating the evidence, the people I've been opposing lying their heads off in the dock. It happens, believe me.
