Actually, you have highlighted a good point.

Swansea will never sign one of our players unless we don't want him (see the **** we had off Spurs whose name escapes me)

They may well want to sign one of your players, if you ever produce one good enough but lets be real-That's hardly likely is it?
Henderson?! ... what a knob you are.

Anyone care to translate this for me?

Thanks in advance

Recent woes aside, Villa is one of the greatest clubs in the history of football. Every claret and blue team (not exactly a common combo) adopted their colours to hope to emulate Villa success. They've played in every year of the PL so if they go down this year it's a major milestone in the history of the PL. (Sunderland fan who remembers 1981).

Aye. Proper old club and European cup winners. This whole 'big club' thing is pretty meaningless

In the Red & White matchday programme it talked about the painting in the reception of the SOL painted by Thomas Hemy of a Sunderland v Aston Villa game in 1895 at the old Newcastle Road ground. Supposedly the oldest painting of a football match in the world. It happened on the same day IIRC the article saying something like 120-odd years ago. Hard to imagine both sides being so strong in that era when you look at both now.

Therein lies the problem with you deluded fuckers

Of course we're a bigger club than you are.

You've never done anything in this league, you yo-yo up & down and when you get a decent striker, we waltz in and take him off your hands

A lot of people on here need to wake up & smell the coffee

I was at Villa Park first day of the season in 1982. It was Villa's first home game after winning the European Cup and just a year after they had won the league - yet there mustn't have even been 20,000 Villa fans there. If that had been RP under the same circumstances the place would have been packed to capacity.

Villa have consistently been a more successful club than Sunderland over the last 40 years but in terms of fan base Villa are not a bigger club that Sunderland.

Apologies for confusing you with facts you deluded, clueless halfwit.

You are as "big" as where you are in the here and now, history counts for Jack Shit in the modern day game.......on that basis Villa are the smallest club in the league

Just for the curious... here's the average attendances since 2000.
Man City were getting more than Villa when City were in Division 1.

I will add earlier years when I get chance... but the last 15 years is a reasonable approximation of 'now' I'd say. I'm sure the Villa fan will be hoping that going further back in time will help him. I'm afraid to say, it won't. It's purely to illustrate to him that his perception vs reality are somewhat apart.

Villa averaged 42k in 2013? That's bollocks like.
