Well last nights bombing raids hit the IS controlled oil fields did it not, there's a start!
And strangely enough, I have read the coalition bombs haven't targeted the oil yet, which I find strange.

It seems the UK isn't just bombing the shit out of any old place, but trying to cut off their financial income.

So we're bombing oil fields where there's a high chance that most of the people working there are civilians, rather than anybody high up in the chain of command? Superb start!

And oil fields can be repaired. At the end of the day bombing is going to do nothing more than disenfranchise, and radicalise those who we're meant to be helping.

I don't think the Sirian public are working these fields to be honest.

Do you think the government budgets for 'wars'? Serious question. If we spend e.g. £50Bn to maintain the forces we would need to spend more if we actually do some fighting unless there's a contingency. The cash has to come from somewhere.

The MoD budget is to increase 0.5% over inflation and there's a new £1.5 Bn Joint Security fund.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-33448383

As well as committing to meet Nato's target, he announced:

  • Spending on defence to rise in real terms - 0.5% above inflation - every year during the Parliament
  • New £1.5bn Joint Security Fund for investment in military and intelligence agencies
  • Recipients of the Victoria Cross and George Cross to see pension annuities rise from £2,129 to £10,000, paid for by bank fines
  • The government to fund a memorial to victims of terrorism overseas

When this new money is moved to one department it either comes from another or from savings made by slashing other budgets.

DROP MORE BOMBS!!!!! It will pay for the NHS and HS2.

Flippant statement, but true. I don't have to like it , nor do you, but its true.

The MOD budget is 50bn. Sounds a lot doesn't it. The UK income tax payer contributed 550bn in FY12/13.

Bombing has a lot of issues. Finance is the least of my worries.

The most financially wise position is to scrap the military altogether. Only having a dad's army type defence system should anyone actually try to invade like Vikings or something.

I'm glad we are bombing them. If its kills a few thousand terrorists , excellent. If it maintains and creates jobs in the north east, excellent. Boosts economy, excellent. Some innocents die, horrendous and accidental, but IS is at fault for that, not the retaliation force.

If nutters weren't killing people, none of this would be happening. A core point lots forget.

And I'm yet to hear a viable alternative. Diane Abbot said on my TV to negotiate a cease fire. Rightyo then love.

Bomb them. Ground troop them. Cut off all oil. Discard any partners or sympathisers such as Turkey, Saudi etc.

And if another springs up, kill them as well. Paedophiles, kill them. Murderers , kill them. Terrorists, kill them. Kill any human who does not behave in the vastly held earth wide boundaries of decency. There's 7 billion of us man. It's 2015. Time to move on from pixies and gods and shite.

Kill them all!

They are humans with a brain. Given that, if they think of everything and the end result is "I want to walk round a beach shooting people in the name of a gadgee in a book who lives in the sky" kill them.

Approximately £500,000 per plane on each mission according to sky / MOD figures. That presumes they use their full payload on each mission, which they won't.

Based on that we spent £4,000,000 last night, the equivalent of the salary of 130 SIS Intelligence Officers for a year or 72 Junior Doctors.
And all we took out were a few things that the Americans, Russians, French, and every other fucker deemed not worth bombing

Yes they are humans with a brain. Himans who can be changed depending on what's happening in their surroundings and the options they're shown.

Incorrect. Do you truely believe a person can walk into a mosque or bunker and say right guys, here's where you're going wrong...total tosh. Equivalent to the social services helping and trying to 'fix' paedos in my opinion. Some brains are wrong marra. Accept it. No different to rabid dogs or a lion. Youre pushing your intelligence and common sense onto others.

Will the cost spiral when the penny eventually drops and we decide to bomb Saudi?

No mate from what I've heard and read on here some people are 'born wrong' so the bombing should carry on forever and even though every bombing campaign we've been involved in in the last 20+ years has done nothing more than create the problems we have now, and even though in October Cameron said that bombing Syria would lead to more terrorism and extremism, now it's vital that we, er, bomb Syria.

I'm not so sure, just having a quick look at some internet articles, it's possible that they bring in their own IS supporting workers to make these fields operational.

Also, what I didn't know. ISIL fighters get a wage!

Supporting working, sure. i.e. a handful of people who know something about oil production to oversee. And a load of soldiers to enforce.

But they can't simply rustle up a few thousand skilled oil technicians overnight.

It'll be our bairns that repay the debt, that's the reason it's happening, lots of cash to be made, the government uses our money (credit) to pay their mates for the weapons and future generations are saddled with the dept and the problem will still be there, because they want it there, it's a cash cow.
yeah i know if only golden gordon hadnt sold all our gold eh!? or raped our pensions

You want to talk them round, I want to kill them. Glad we're clear.
