Dicks future in doubt again

He is in a strong position, he doesn't need the job and can walk away without a care in the world. I think he'll do exactly that without backing this week

Spot on. It will be a crying shame.
Honestly don't get why Short thought Dick would put up with this situation.
If Dick does go, I agree with earlier posts that he'll try and do that on the cheap by installing Bracewell. Cue mayhem and relegation.

Agree but I just dont see how Ellis can't see it will be a disaster ?! For 3 years we've nearly gone it wont last forever and we'll fall through the trapdoor sooner or later.

Short must think Advocaat is an old man who can be a pushover at his age. Fact is that Dick put up with Russian mobsters before Short, got retired the legendary Gullit and has nothing to lose.

Ellis isn't thick FFS, its basics. Either we get better players or you'll be funding shit loads more debt next season, stay up and we get bumper deals for 3+ years and you can reduce the debt your supporting. For the sake of £20m we could make an extra £80m+

 He would appear to be one of the most clueless cunts in English football. Who knows what he's going to do next.

I'd say a tad lower than that. A while back I worked out that he'd invested pretty much what the club would be worth (£140M) and since then he's cut his spending back and changed his mode of investment. I'm not knocking the bloke but he's no benefactor, he's reached this point because he's at the absolute limit of what he can reasonably expect to claw back.
It was 20 mill last season. When did he cut the spending back?

There's just fuck all to be positive about a few weeks into the season just get fucked Short you yank prick

Do they? Are we just talking one window?
Previous windows have a barring on our current predicament
but for a here and now propsective action in this window will determine werger we go down or not... everybody is investing heavily... even in the championship many clubs are building with significant investment in the hope of going up
we have issues in three key areas, if unaddressed we dont have a strong strong enough to stay up
if we picked up a couple of injuries we'd be totally fucked, as there isnt too much depth of quality

In football the only window that really counts is the one your in, money spent is dead money at this point it's what your spending to right it in the current window.

What a depressing thread.

Just watch, we will sign De Guzman and Borini today
Well it's coming from one of the three blokes that really know what is going on, it's not made up by some media baddies with something against us those quotes can't be twisted in anyway, he's pissed at what is going on it clearly wasn't the way he thought it would when he came back and he knows if we don't spend we will be fighting a long hard right to stay up.

Getting a bit sick of these comments, if he's gonna walk I wish he would just fuck off now.
He's a proud man I doubt he wants his last job in football be him walking away, he likes the fans and wants the best for the team, he's playing the only cards he has to push the owner to invest. It will be tasty when he does walk in the end because he won't pull any punches at all in telling what was what.

I get he's trying to push Ellis to spend more but can't he do that privately? This just causes yet more negative headline around the club

Who is investing heavily?

I think Advocaats mood at yesterday's press conference may have been darkened by yet more negative news on potential incomings. He's presumably in regular contact with Congerton and unlike fans who are hanging on every word of 24hr news threads on the Internet he's getting the latest word from the dof's mouth.

Imagine just prior to taking a press conference he's received an update from Congeton which said ... "You know player X and Y we spoke about, both of whom are good players and would improve the team? - well they've both knocked us back.
