Bravo, gen.i always stay to the end but i can understand the frustrations of those who leave, mind they werent leaving at half time as MOTD has edited it to look, it looks to me like the usual half time pint exodus, people were leaving when the third went in but as i say i understand why, every summer we get the same trundled out promises of investment, the same promises everything will change and the playing staff will be made to perform, yet two games into the season we have conceded 7 goals and our only spark is a 21 year old kid with nothing to lose whos highest level of playing experience is the SPL.
We have had 5 managers who have been hamstrung by ownership who refuse to invest significantly, uses wages and FFP as excuses why we cant get players in, yet we are lumbered with the same ageing plodders who have seen the club as a retirement nest egg and refuse to put even a modicum of effort to earn their wages, we have a team littered with triers like Larsson who will give you 100% but are not good enough ability wise and should be nowhere near the squad should the management wish to push the club forward, id like to say we are no further forward to last seasons failings but we are really no further forward than we were 9 seasons ago when we came up, an average team filled with limited triers and ageing players who couldnt give a toss, theres no exciting players or someone you can rely on to change a game.
If this were a first time id be looking at the manager but this 5 managers the players have failed to perform for which indicates to me the problem doesn't lie within the tactics, management or the coaching, it lays with the players themselves, the likes of O'Shea, Larsson, Brown, Cattermole and Fletcher have seen 5 different managers with 5 differing footballing outlooks and tactics, which tells me they are either extremely shit and cant play unless you are accommodating their strengths or they are part of a group of players that have too much control over what happens within the club.
Im only trying to offer a little insight that MOTD wont show, they dont care about 9 years of broken promises, 9 seasons of failed investment, a feeling of resignation and apathy seeping through our fanbase due to watching the same struggle year after year, the sense of stagnation and inevitable demise much like Wigan with shit investment into the club and poor outlay when money is actually spent, its watching historically average teams like West Brom, Stoke and Swansea be promoted and overtake us in terms of spending and investment and on the pitch.
All MOTD care about is presenting a highlight show with 'experts' like Alan Shearer offering amazing insight into why clubs are struggling or doing well, its about showcasing a spunk festival for the armchair fan so i really couldnt give a toss what they think of the paying fan, much the same as they do, to me MOTD and its analysis is part of the reason football is dying on its arse.
Our fans i think are resigned to our relegation, we have been coasting along hoping for three worse teams than us to pop up from the championship and this year i think is the point in time we will finally drop, you have Championship clubs looking to break the bank to get to the Premier League for the increased TV money but we are in a position most teams in the championship would be envious of and our owner refuses to spend the money to ensure he pockets the windfall.
We are apathetic after seasons of humiliating defeats, no investment and average plodders infesting the club leading us further down toward relegation, the fans can see it because we have been down the same path before but the owner seemingly cant see it.
Nevermind, it'll be the Football League show next year showcasing our games so there wont be this obsession on here with us being on MOTD last.
