First day back

Aye. Needs to prove worth TBH.
In his first season he would graft his bollocks off. I get the impression Advocaat has a hard work ethic. If he shows the same attitude in the first few month of the season he might just end up staying.

I can't see us signing a left back. Both Jones and Matthews can cover there. Also I reckon a striker would need to go before one came in.
Plus, as it stands, we still have Roberge as 8th choice defender who could cover LB or CB in an emergency

Think it's just the general business at calibre of player we are going for, as well as shipping out poor, deadwood from previous reigns

Ah, right so I guess it was Downing a couple of weeks ago - personally I was surprised if the plan was to play him central cos that implied a change in formation to 4231.

A creative midfielder is critical like.

There is good money to spend, I know that.
Ditto. Given what we have spent already (and assuming Gyan pays for Kaboul) then I think we'd have money for a quality midfielder (10m plus) and 2 good loans as a min. Not saying we will, I just know the ballpark of money that is there

Heard out about Mousa Dembele? Worked with Lens and Advocaat at AZ Alkmaar and apparently could be leaving Spurs for about 10m?

Agree. The business that is getting done is clinical and impressive. Short, Congerton and Advocaat need to take a lot of credit for that
