Heard the best one this morning at the bairns footy, apparently we talked to Wijnaldum but he didn't want to play in red and white stripes again. We paid for his plane over anyway, Wijnaldum told the plane driver he's always liked nufc and he wants to sign for them. Burst out laughing thinking he was kidding, he wasn't
Plane driver......lol

I think I need to start playing football manager because I had honestly never heard of this Whingydiddums fella before the transfer rumours started. I bet there's loads on here posting about him being a world beater who have really never seen or heard of him either.
I don't think anyone on here had heard of him to be honest

Confirmed. 5 year contract. Potential to be a great signing for them unfortunately. Key word being potential, its not a given he can perform in this league yet.

Perhaps not but given he's already turned down a move to PSG in past it suggests his aspirations are a little higher than a bottom end premier league club mind.
I know this kind of talk doesn't suit but I just tend to deal in realism as oppose to fantasy.

Like I said I was quite excited by it at time but when look at it now it wasn't really that big a deal really.
Don't recall him being courted by other big clubs like wijnaldum is and given he's already had PSG at his door it's pretty safe to say that sunderland or the mags who were also linked would be even remotely on his agenda

Yes realism MrJardine, realism I will remember your words of wisdom

If the club are pursuing it then it's encouraging but people really expecting him to come here when like of PSG sniffing about? Come on man.
Doing well Bonny lad

So when we kid ourselves over a signing we are merely dreaming?
When a mag does it it's delusion?
Interesting.
Nope.

Bold signing for them but a massive price tag for unproven premiership footballer pressure will be on him from the off and considering how shite they were 2nd half of last season they have a hell of a lot more work to do add in the new manager, coaches and 5/6 new players could be a rough start for them if they happen to lose a few games early doors
