As a Leicester fan I think he would be the best manager for the job.

When the job came up names like Klopp and Hiddink were mentioned, they would not come to a club like ours.

Being a bit older the youth don't see this.

As for O'Neill the way we play is exactly the way we played all those years ago, that's with the two wing backs.

It's a no brainer for me,the set up is ideal he doesn't need change anything tactically.

The players would be comfortable straight away, going back five years we had a so called big name in Paulo Sousa,he tried to change us from a hard to beat side to more possession team in six weeks,he got sacked after we lost 7-1 at Portsmouth.

It's about time we actually had a Leicester supporter on here who is not pretending to be one, for some reason.

he signed the fucker didn't he

Wasn't that the same window we signed N'Diaye though? MON clearly didn't want him either - he never signed players from abroad. I think it was an opportunistic signing because Swansea had offered him around, plus don't forget MON never played with two strikers so it didn't make much sense

I wonder who did?

Whoever it was will have shredded the evidence by now,

Sometimes O'Neill did things just to make a point, like only naming six substitutes to prove the squad was too small. Perhaps when Short said he could only have £5m to spend on a striker he bought Graham to prove it wasn't enough to buy anyone good

he spent the last 6 months at Sunderland with us camped on the edge of our 18 yard box. That isn't the Martin O'Neill of years gone by. He was totally and utterly clueless. I know for a fact Pearson didn't have you lot camped in defence so he would change things and it wouldn't be pleasant. Bloke's a dinosaur. Bad news for ANYBODY that appoints him.

There's a Sunderland fan on our forum who has the same opinion but he's getting dog's abuse as about 80% of Leicester fans want MON back. The Sunderland lad shares my opinion on MON.

MON should be consigned to the past where he belongs, it's only nostalgia getting him the job.

It's the same reason I didn't want Hiddink or Ranieri. They have similar profiles to MON as they've been successful in the past but done nothing of note for years and are dinosaurs in today's game.

I fear we'll learn the hard way. :(

I really wanted Jocelyn Gourvenecc.

Sssssssssssshhhhhh man

Problem was, he didn't have a plan B when Wolves wanted too much for Fletcher, and he had no ability to judge a player to make astute supporting signings to go with his big names. It would be like me trying to pick a line up for this year's Glastonbury based on the contents of my ipod with nothing from the last twelve years on it
Your glastonbury would probably be canny. Music died in about 1997

If this is true I'm sticking every penny I own on nil nil every game Leicester play accumulator. Be a millionaire by 2016

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

One of the worst managers in world football. Absolute f***ing dinosaur. Yeah, yeah, it was exciting when he took over and he's a good lad, but f***ing hell, worst f***ing shite I've ever watched in my entire life, this is an appalling appointment by Leicester.

More excuses for him. Never played with two strikers, what utter utter garbage man.

Heskey and collymore, larsson and Sutton?, Carew and agbonlahor, there's absolutely plenty of examples.

Haway mann!

MON is well thought of throughout the football community.
He is highly regarded as a very good manager.

Are you their official spokesman

The football he created at Sunderland is some of the worst I've seen in 50 years following the Lads.

I've never, before or since, seen a Sunderland manager lead the team out waving a white flag.

I will laugh my arse off if I get the chance to watch deluded Leicester supporters welcoming their Messiah.

Steve Bruce is obviously well regarded in the football community, that hasn't made him a good manager.

Count me amongst those who think he should have been given more time.

Agreed, he was pretty much renowned for playing big and little upfront elsewhere.
