We won't have any interest, it's simply the press putting a Dutch link to our Dutch manager, and then when he signs for the mags we get all the 'turned the mackems down' bullshit
 
with the mags already having a few dutch players in thier squad he could go to them unfortunatly. hopefully not though hes not a bad turn and an improvement
 
Definitely a set up. We'll have no interest and Bird will know of concrete NUFC interest (remember the Mirror is the main partner)-

This. The Chronicle will report it one of 2 ways:

"Sunderland were thought to be interested but Wijnaldum preferred a move to Tyneside."

"Whilst McClaren was interested in Wijnaldum, he privately valued the player at around £6m and was not prepared to match the fee paid by Sunderland believing better targets to be available at that price."
