Suppose the first XI more or less picks itself (Assuming Robson will be given another chance)

Cook, Robson, Ballance, Bell, Root, Ali, Buttler, Woakes, Broad, Plunkett, Anderson

I'd like to see Stokes, Wood and Rashid on the plane, as well as Trott and Bairstow as back up WK

Although Telegraph seems sure that Trott will go and will open with Cook. I suppose we should be picking the team that will play the 1st test v Aus and not "trying people out"

I'm doubtful about Trott for health reasons. If he understands what happened to him and given some statements he made in the past I'm not sure he is then fine. Did he have his trouble because of cricketing pressure and if it happens again while on tour will he ask for help if it's needed? I hope so and I wish him well.

Yeah. Shame about Robson though - he came with a big reputation. Hopefully he can go back to County Cricket and work on his technique. Terrible really that he should come through the ranks in Australia and England with such technical flaws not being corrected. The gap between County and International cricket is far too wide
 
Shocking picking Tredwell who couldn't get in the Kent side last year and was loaned out. He's 33 now so isn't going to improve much at all. Hope Rashid plays

ECB all over this. I'd rather we picked no spinner than Treadwell - the effect would be much the same.

My team would be:

Cook, Trott, Ballance, Bell, Root, Stokes, Buttler, Rashid, Broad, Plunkett, Anderson

I think he will play tbh, would be stupid to take a 33 year old along to carry the drinks when a young lad could gain good experience from being there.
 
Pleased for Wood it's another tick for the Durham fast bowling production line.

Trott will definitely play now he's been picked so I reckon there's only a couple of positions that are up for grabs. I think Lyth will only come in if Ballance or Stokes struggle.

Well so much for the southern public school boys and the old school tie. Squad full of working class northern boys. Big chance for Stokes to show how good he is against weak opposition, Iam a huge fan but he made a bit of an arse of it ast summer after the Ashes tour.
