Durham > England

Champions of the competition the England team is picked from. Granted I think errors have been made with England but to say Durham would beat England is ludicrous and holds no substance whatsoever.

Callum McLeod a key part of Durham's order hasn't made a run. Mustard tried and failed at international level. Stoneman steady away and may warrant a go but nothing more. Breese nowhere near good enough (substitute in Buckley/Pringle if you like). Rushworth would get walloped. Wood maybe but again no guarantees. Muchall no chance. etc. etc. etc.
216 runs at an average of 19 is a key part of our order?

He was our best batsmen in the t20 stuff mind.

There has been NOTHING during this WC , or anytime recently, to suggest the England would beat durham. They are barely Associate standard at ODIs.

Take peoples points re better players but team vs team?? Durham for me. Or indeed any numbet of county sides.

He's me thinking the cricket board on the SMB was the sensible one and only pure football was the biased one with clouded thinking.

Durham nowhere near as good as England would get beat 19 out 20 matches against them.

Said for a while now, Durham would beat this England ODI side comfortably.

Beat the England side comfortably, total bollocks over the top statement that like

Have you watched this WC? We're like the kids rugby team that turns up to a tournament having only ever played tag rugby.

There are some tidy sides in county cricket who play a very attacking brand of cricket.

Any team who score 230 who fancy defending it agsinst England. They're fragile and weak and have been for too long

England are barely associate level and our record proves that. Something like 22 defeats in our last 35 ODI's?

My money is on Durham

Don't think you will get any arguments on here about the poor level England are at,but Durham better is just silly talk which I guess you probably know, like I said where as pure football can get silly with its bias, thought the cricket site lot more sensible.

Fragile and weak against better sides than Durham by a long way

What? Like Bangladesh? Or Ireland? Or the Netherlands who have all beaten England in 50 or 20 over cricket recently.

I agree that England as individuals are a long way ahead but its a team game.

It's not bias at all as I've said Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire would beat England also.

,Sunderland are shit and have been all season but that does not mean Hartlepool are a better side.

I can only repeat we all know England shit, but of course they are a better side than Durham

Fair enough mate, take your point about not been biased,I not saying it is not a possibility England could get beat of a county side, however would beat them 90% of the time.

based on what exactly at 50 over level?

Based of the fact that most of the England games are against a standard miles better than what Durham face.

I think a fairer comparison would be a championship team as county level is the next level below international cricket.

I can think of a few championship sides who would dick Sunderland at minute. Lots of people predicted that Bradford would beat us too

Can't agree with that mate, the difference between say us and Norwich is miles less that the difference between England and Durham

Which England players would you have in Durham's one day side??

For me Modern, Root, Buttler (although not a better keeper than. Mustard), Taylor. None or the bowlers.

People like Bopara has been slaughtered on here and rightly so due to his poor performances in a England shirt, however he would walk into Durham's one day side IMO.

That shows the distance between the two sides IMO.

In fact every single player in England's World Cup squad is good enough to be in Durham's one day side, only Stokes and Onions, who maybe just maybe would make the side ahead of them.

Wouldn't have Bopara anywhere near our team.

I reckon most Durham fans, would suddenly start to rate him a lot better if he signed for them.

Whole thread a bit silly,England football team was shit at their World Cup,does that mean the England players would not get in Sunderlands side of course not, they would walk into it,same principle applies with England and Durham cricket players IMO.
