The Verdict

Starting now on 403, Bob is coming in from a long run - situated somewhere near Dumfries.

Thought perhaps we could discuss our own verdict here - away from the emotion and hysteria of the match thread.

bit silly the docks bit, prefer when he just talks cricket

Always remember Bob with a face like an arse after the '81 Headingley game because of the stick England had been getting off the press.

Suppose it's a living though.

Carberry talking shite there, not saying he should of played, but saying is Ballance a one day player domestically, is he someone counties talk about in team meetings

He absolutely is mate, only him and Taylor in Britain average over 50 in List A cricket, a lot more than you do mate

disrespectful like, they may not be the greatest, but they are still better than that fecker

good to see Charles corrected him

Here comes the clown Downton, what an absolute bellend of a bloke

"inexperienced bunch of players". - I don't buy that argument.
"exciting bunch of players" - really?
"too much chop and change in the last 6 months" - whose fault is that?
"we are re-building, and that side today will be competitive in 2 years time"
"things haven't been right since 1992"
"eoin has done a pretty much a good job" - really?
"I think we've tried to be more aggressive"

"we've already started to look at the next 4 years, and where we might be in the next 2 years"

"the plan is already started, review of domestic structure happening in the next coming months"

"I still believe Peter Moores is the coach of the generation, he's a very experienced coach. I have got every faith in Peter Moores"

"the buck stops with me with results, we are very early into an appointment, it takes time for things to come through, we've got to rebuild again and back our players and invest in them"

This changing batting order stuff is a load of shite, players just not good enough currently

Australia changed their number 3 after 1 game, Watson and Smith in at 3, then Watson back in 6. Difference is they are quality proven performers.

Good comment by Carberry. 'At Hampshire we try to score as many as possible during the power play overs, at England we're given a (low) target where we want to be after 10 overs'.

I've been banging on about not pressing on during the 1st 10 overs all tournament, wasting opportunities to really punish the opposition

Rebuilding, inexperienced, backing Moores. What a predictable clown. Downton should be first out if the door, his tenure of managing director has coincided with the lowest ebb in English cricket in a generation.

Think back to last winters ashes down under.
1st test and the Aussies all over us not just by being better but by being so aggressive verbally.
Our captains reaction to that was that we don't want to overstep the mark and need to show each other respect.
The Aussies reaction was to to say they done nothing wrong and will continue in their aggressive manner.
Such a soft under belly within the England ranks.
Go back to 2005 and we were totally unfancied but got in their faces from the first t/20 game and never let up.
Now obviously you need ability to go with the bravado but the mental approach plays a big part and we look so meek whenever we take field.
