Any idea how any of those quicks did last year? Did Meaker, Mills and Overton actually play much?Big season for young bowlers up and down the country to be honest.
Could easily make a case for anyone who has a good season to be in the England squads, especially if the new ECB gadgy is serious about turning England around.
For pace, you would be looking at the likes of Wood, Mills, Meaker, Overton and maybe Hannon-Dalby to seriously kick on.
Spin wise, I think they will persist with Ali - and I don't disagree by and large - but contributions from Borthwick and Rashid (again...) could see us playing a specialist spin bowler as opposed to a batter who spins it a bit.
Mills did, from memory. Always seemed to be playing when Essex were on the telly. Without looking, I couldn't tell you how many wickets etc they took but they have been consistently named as the "best young English pace bowlers". And now it's time one or more stepped up and forced their way into the team. Mills would be a bonus, we have seen how well lefties do in the World Cup!Any idea how any of those quicks did last year? Thats the problem the players who are playing are not good enough but there is no obvious replacements in the county game, thats probably why Woods name has cropped up as a possible England player. There s not a spinner or a genuine quick opening bowler in the county game who looks any better.Don't defend them fucktards - anyone else is worth a go over the same muppets who are failing time after time after time after time again.
Mills left Essex because he could not get a game, pretty much says it all, he basically does not take wickets.Mills did, from memory. Always seemed to be playing when Essex were on the telly. Pat Cummins the same age as Topley and Overton was winning a test match for the Aussies against South Africa as a teenager.I think he played a fair but early on and did ok but got injured. I reckon it's a good move for him Essex come accross as a dibly dobly div 2 county with Masters and Bopara bowling a lot of overs. Watched their bowler Topley in U19 world cup and him and Overton looked the sharpest in the tournament. A year later Essex had him looking military medium.
Durham should be commended for the bowlers they produce . Killeen is currently working with the EPP.

Looks like he is going, just hope he can stay fit.
Yeah i think i have only actually seen him bowl in county cricket a couple of times, he has either been injured or not selected for Durham. Mistake if Stokes not selected for squad.remarkable really, hell of a rise from nowere
Stokes doesn't look like he is going, f***ing ridiculous
