I reckon he will be fine, I think he's more likely to replace Bopara than Stokes and I can hardly complain cos I think he's a fine player.

Ballance is indeed a fine player but if he was a direct replacement for Bopara the team would be short on bowling options.

Is Bopara the modern day Limited over equivalent of Graeme Hick & Ramps???

Frequent destroyer of county teams
In T20 or Pro40, but can't cut it at international level. He is always amongst the wickets & runs for Essex.

Bopara has scored one international hundred, and that was against Ireland

His highest score against a major nation is something like 63, around that, saw it the other day

It is ridiculous how bad his record is, its absolutely atrocious

I think they weren't going to take him to the world cup or Sri Lanka, but for some reason there was a massive outcry in the media when he was left out of the India series.
 
Ballance was a complete waste of a selection when you consider we could have taken Jason Roy or Ben Stokes.

Presume its because he had a good series in Sri Lanka. Beats me why we held our auditions for the world cup, on Australian wickets, in Sri Lanka mind.

Graeme hick was a very good international limited over player to be fair mind.
