Anfield Plain is superb, as is Castle Eden.

Honourable mentions for Mainsforth and Ryhope. Silksworths was also 1000% better last year.

When did it become compulsory for every player to buy a tea?

Use to be hell on back in my day when you went some places where the teas were shite and the away team just piled to the local shop:lol::lol:

Had that experience at Kimblesworth and Langley Park in my youth. Although LP got their act together swiftly following a spate of complaints.

On an 'excellent' note, Hylton and WIllington around the 2006/7 mark have to go down as being quality.

When playing at Seaham Harbour once we knew the teas were shit,so only two of our team wanted a tea,so told my brother the captain he went and told the tea ladies we only wanted two teas.

When it came to tea team the tea ladies had only made two teas altogether!

The umpires had to have them,Seaham players were fuming.

Might have just been a coincidence but next season it was compulsory for all players to order teas

Can you remember that @wicketkeeper

Everyone use to pile up moscidinis instead of getting a tea at horden:lol:

I've never really understood why we still have big cricket teas. I know it is local cricket but surely the last thing you want is a bowl of chilli and some mini toad in the holes, when you have to bat/bowl/field in about 20 minutes time.

Saying that I am as guilty as anyone. Waved a fair few past my mid off station in the first 5 or 6 overs after a big tea.

Seaham harbour are the only club i've played at that always had jam sandwiches as the mainstay of their cricket tea
