Michael Vaughan, Adam Gilchrist and Jason Gillespie think Stokes should be in the england side, that's good enough for me.
 

Scyld Berry in the Tele thinks Finn should be the one to drop out and Woakes in.

There's also a suggestion that maybe a more technical batsman is needed at no 3 and therefore James Taylor drops down the list and Bopara moves to 3.

He must be dropped for the World Cup, he's been consistently our most expensive and most ordinary bowler this series.

His batting isn't good enough to earn him an all-rounders spot either - he's arguably the worst number 8 in the tournament.

Anderson, Broad and Finn are our quicks, we don't need another vanilla gentle paced trundler.

0-89 in a game where everyone else went for 4/5 an over? f***ing dog shit. Single handedly gifted Australia the win.
 
Bowled utter garbage today, unless he comes in and wins England the game with the bat I suspect his days are numbered.
 
But that for me is where the management have it wrong. Pick Stokes, for his batting. Don't bring him in as a 10 overs/number 8. Bat him 5/6 and use him for maybe 5/6 overs. I don't know why Morgan didn't give Bopara a few overs today but you could get 10 overs each from the three quicks, 10 from Ali and then 10 from a combination of Stokes/Bopara/Root.

Woakes shouldnt be anywhere near the team. Its like being back in the 80s when England kept picking shit all rounders like Ian Greig, Pringle, Capel etc. Nowhere near good enough for International cricket

That team just about sums it up, a decent looking county side. The simple truth is there is a class gap between England and the top sides like Australia. Christ how many genuine quick bowlers have they got in Aussie. We can't produce one from 18 counties, but plenty of 80 mph trundlers

Are you really saying Anderson and Broad are not as good as the Aussie bowlers? How short is your memory?
 
Bopara has cemented his place in the team for the next 5 years with today's knock of 33. Disgraceful. He was in for nearly 2 hours and scored only one boundary. Not good enough just not bloody good enough.

Even Bumble said he was having a net.
