I get scared watching this. Almost the full over at 98-100mph.

There's an article in the Indy site with Brett Lee saying the 2005 ashes was the best series he's ever played in and funny enough in the BBL in the commentary box there's been a lot of references to that tour form the likes of Ponting and Gilly saying good things about KP and Freddie but also Simon Jones as one of the star men.

It was nice to hear that the Aussies enjoyed that series because it certainly sticks in my mins as the best ever. (even better than the 81 series I think)

Easily. And thanks to that fanny Giles Clark, millions missed it.

Simon Jones was awesome that series. The reverse swinger that made Michael Clarke look like a total idiot remains one of my favourite balls ever. Up there with Glenn McGrath's opening spell at Lords in the same series

Excellent cricketer, seems like a nice guy and I still enjoy watching him now in the BBL. Heard he's had a number 1 album in India and is starring in a film to be released there soon, think he'll be alright!

Fantastic talent and I'll always remember his contribution to the Ashes in 2005, I could have throttled him for it at the time, but without it, the series wouldn't have been what it was. It's great to hear the way he spoke about the end of the Edgbaston test that year, from intense competition and rivalry to 5 minutes later, all of them having a beer together. A reminder that at any level, that's what cricket is really about.

yep, he said that the other day on the tele here. he doesn't need to play any more. he's shooting (another) bollywood movie now and is part of the commentary team for channel 9. he used to have a clothing store/fashion label too, not sure if he still has. remember when he first got picked for their test team many thought he wouldn't make it at that level.

Top bloke, one of the good lads

Couple of year ago which turned out to be his last game for Australia, he hobbled off injured yet before boarding the coach, he spent ages signing autographs. Anyway my partner missed him and called him over just as he was about to board the bus (bearing in mind he could hardly walk), he hobbled back over and signed a few things. Little things like that go a long way to enhancing a reputation with supporters, meanwhile Clarke blanked everyone and got on the bus.

Good interview with Jones on cricinfo

Cheers I enjoyed that.

Such a shame about his injuries, he was fantastic in that series. Sometimes I don't think I appreciate how good our quicks were who played in that series, never quite hit the same heights again.

Tip my hat to Jason Gillespie, didn't know he carried Jones off. Always comes across as a good bloke though.
