Get in!!!!

The under 18's beat Ipswich.

Of course it won't, but swapping him for a striker who we know will never ever ever score can only be a good thing.
Could we not have got rid of Altidore without having to get Defoe? Honestly dont know.

I would be more welcoming if it was a more short term deal. But 3.5 years on such a large wage is a canny risk for me.

I do hope my concerns turn out to be totally inaccurate mind.

probably not. He still has value in soccerutdland

Noah is walking through his ark one day when he hears this little whimpering sound. He turns and sees a little animal hiding in the corner, sobbing it's heart out.

He asks what's wrong and the animal says "I don't know what type of animal I am. I can see that one over there has a snout and grunts, so it's a pig and that one over there has a looooong neck and a clue tongue so it's a giraffe but I don't know what I am!"

Noah smiles and says "It's simple ... you're black & white and you f***ing stink ...... you're a mag!"

For a player that moved to a very poor league and struggled with injuries, can his body withstand the pressure of premiership football, who knows, but this is an expensive way to find out.
The 3.5 years contract is a big issue for me. If it was shorter there would be less risk, mind he probably wouldnt have signed like.

WTF.You nip out for a life saving operation, and come back to find your club has signed,or will sign the little twat that i never liked.Even before he broke our keepers are.
Will now read the thread and find out what SMB think is going on.

Bursting with excitement now as surely it must go through, it's become to public for it to fall through.

Once I see the photo of him in the shirt it's off to the shop as a relatively dry January is brought to an end.

How much did you stick on him signing? Hopefully a canny wedge!

Exactly. It's clear to me that we had to make it worth his while. We were never going to give him a really short contract and basically say to him that he's only needed for a year. He probably would've looked elsewhere. The Altidore part of the deal also helped us because it attracted Toronto FC. They lose their star striker and sign a replacement immediately. I'd imagine it would have been hard for us to sign Defoe if we didn't have Altidore to offer them as well. He's only just turned 32 after all, it's not like he's some 36 year old who went off to retire in the MLS.

They don't become accountants or do most no anything about running a business, they simply will moan and put a negative slant on anything.
Personally I'm well pleased about him signing.
That's true any excuse for some I guess. Me too, but I wish he'd hurry up me wifi is costing me a fortune

Spavs and mackem00 have made some canny comments as well.

Mind they useless twats cant win with me at the minute, I'll admit that

When money became a big issue and with the FFP rules there are limited budgets for clubs like ourselves, so for me it is a relevant and topical subject
It is yes, but it's something I am happy to leave to those paid to make sure we are within FFP. I just want to go to the match and see us win.

it comes down to this how much would we lose if we were to drop out of the premier league surely defoe will give us more chance of staying in by hopefully doing what he does best and score goals
