Why not......solid fan base, billionaire owner, top class facilities........all that's lacking is someone who knows what he's doing football wise.

irrelevant if he has cut the apron strings. Not a big draw

Poyet is not perfect but he's not terrible either and whoever is manager has to do what they can with a weak hand when the likes of Hull are spending money like it's going out of fashion.

So someone has listened again and confirmed the context was not as the OP claimed.....everyone just ignores them and carrys on saying how disgusted they are.

Why are our supporters so happy to believe the worst?
i didnt.

It's not there to listen again yet. I think I heard what the OP said but Gus's English isn't the best is it?

if he did say that then he should do the honourable thing and resign.

If he isn't happy with the way things operate with regards to transfers and he isn't happy with the squad he has been given then I'd respect him for walking away from it.

If he isnt happy with it but stays in his job then he should get on with it and take his share of blame for todays days events and any other events that unfold.

I will be surprised if he walks. However, if we get relegated he is trying to give a perception that his capacity to stop it from happening was limited. By pushing the spotlight on Congerton having a big say in player recruitment policy, he is trying to walk away with as much as his reputation entact as possible if the shit hits the fan.
Whether he is entitled to play the 'Congerton card' is a subjective thing, I guess.

Is there a link?

If he said what the Op is saying, then he is bang out of order, but maybe its a case of poor english or just misheard by the Op?

IMO he isnt entitled to play that card as long as he carries on in the job. If he isnt happy with it then he shouldnt have signed a three year extension. If he has been misled about how things were going to progress before signing his contract then he should walk away from the club and take the club to court for constructive dismissal as Keegan did with Ashley.

For me, if he stays on then its an acceptance of the situation and he remains equally as culpable for on field performance as the DoF and board.

This is where managers are snidy. They look after their own reputations without dignity. If you dont like the job you dont have to stay.

All this applies only if he said what he is alleged to have said on radio mind

fingers & toes crossed here like

Still no confirmation?, still people acting like it's true? Good old smb, always ready for a good old fashioned witch hunt.

His full time email was spot on, by the way. Suitably apologetic and made no excuses. No wonder it's been almost completely ignored in favor of this abortion of a thread.
