I would actually. ...and it's far from calling someone a tosser. .
Tactics ( how important or not) would be off limits.
He's been asked this week about the messages. .He still won't release what was said.
Should have been the end for him after that.
He won't release what was said but categorically said it was not tactics.

nah absolutely bang out of order, Strauss a good bloke, and didn't deserve any of that. I understand you like KP but you seem to blindly defend him and think he has done nothing wrong at all.

Nah mate, you've got it wrong. I'm not saying pietersen is an angel. Nor do I think the majority of our players are. What I'm saying is I don't care. I don't care who gets on with who. Or who is nice. Or whatever else. I care about having the best players playing.

Its blatantly obvious that the powers that be wanted Pietsersen out though, Boycott nailed it.

As far as I know it's only the media who have mentioned tactics, Pietersen has always denied that vehemently. Obviously it being leaked causes disruption to the England team, it would be interesting to know who leaked it. Otherwise it's a private conversation between two mates (and possibly about one particular incident rather than KP's general opinion of Strauss). Are you telling me nobody on here has slagged of their team mates/work mates to their friends? Doesn't mean Strauss and KP couldn't work together, you never like everyone you work with.

I'm not defending KP by the way, he's an arrogant sod who has a massive chip on his shoulder and has made plenty of mistakes. But I think the text thing was blown out of all proportion and in general he's been mismanaged.

Excellent post.

Dear me.

It was widely reported at the time that one of the Saffers had let slip in the field that Pietersen had told them to go round the wicket and short at Strauss, as he'd been struggling with that ball in the nets. As I remember, Pietersen just about admitted to using the insult 'doos' and was given the opportunity to show the content of the texts to prove he didn't reveal any tactics about Strauss. Of course, he refused and him and the Saffers closed ranks.

When the Saffers won the series, Pietersen went out to celebrate with them.

As I said earlier, you can't really prove it. All you have is a comment on the field, which the Saffers later denied ever happened, and the fact the Pietersen point blankly refused to show the evidence which would have cleared or damned him.

You can make up your own mind.

]Its a commendable trait which should be encouraged imo there mate.

Should never slag off anyone who tries their best.

Oh well, the fact that Pietersen was last away from training all the time means he is even better ;)

obviously. one man tells the truth and everyone else lies. obviously.

The ECB say he fell out with Carberry. Carberry comes out and says its bollocks....

Pietersen rips into Strauss in text. Shit storm. Broad, Swann and Bresnan rip into Pietersen on the spoof twitter account. No problemo....

hes just an attention seeker. loves the publicity. I dont think anyone with a brain really cares about him any more.

I agree. As a cricket fan (and someone who spends their cash to watch the game live) I most certainly don't want to see the most talented players on show.

Here's the Harmison piece in the Sunday Sun

Interesting. Cheers for the link.

Seems most think KP had his faults, but he was far from the only one. Yet he seemed to get pulled on it more than any other.
