KP Tweet

I like KP, thought Matt Prior was a very important player for England & thought Andy Flower was absolutely outstanding as coach for England.

Shame its come to this like....

What a f***ing load of shite, and the likes of Michael vaughan lapping it up

Whatever bloody "culture" the bowlers and prior fostered, it was the right one, as we became the best side in the world, it only ended due to a ludicrous back to back ashes.

Michael vaughan says shows why we never got the best out of KP......he became the all team run scorer under Strauss and Flower

whatever they were doing, it work, and the only complaints will be the likes of KP, who have sour grapes.

Pathetic.

totally agree, which makes it more annoying that he gets some support for this, he's a hideous bloke, he talks like this after leaving every club he's been at.

I also agree. He's rancid. Hopefully after he's promoted his book he f**ks off to india or SA with all his mates and we don't have to hear from him again.

The championship is almost irrelevant as far as international cricket is concerned.

I have a similar story about Boycott, when after the first day at the Ashes Oval test in 77 was controversially abandoned he was the only one who stood and signed for a huge crowd of us. Not just scribbled either, a perfect signature. Looks like both of them are aware that it's the paying customer that's important.
Ten quid a time no doubt ;)

Boycs always seemed to have a boot full of books, saw him at Acklam park doing the same

I couldn't stand Ian Botham as a person but as a cricketer he was the best thing to happen to us at the time.

Glad has finally been able to give his side of the story. People can now make an informed opinion of what went on in the dressing room

No smoke without fire it seems!

This was a man who was criticised for playing lazy shots
This was a man who was reprimanded for doing silly things off the field
This was a man who scored more than 8000 test runs
This was a man who played more than 100 tests

But enough about David Gower. This thread is about KP.

There is.

What it comes down to, is players that weren't in the "inner circle" were obviously pissed off that they were;t informed in tactical decisions. Fair enough.

KP would basically be treat like a junior player, but whats wrong with that? They didn't trust him after what happened with Moores and the texting. And the inner circle of prior, cook, strauss, cook, broad, jimmy, swan......etc, obviously worked.

It all comes down to the fact that he wanted to be making decisions, and didn't like those who were.

 good one

You can't compare Gower with KP in all seriousness though.

Gower essentially got "sacked" when Gooch got rid of him, didn't see him making up lies.

Gower was a bit flamboyant, care free, more important things to cricket type attitude.

Personally that is not how I view KP, it had to be all about him, and as soon as it wasn't, he started kicking off

Really really wish they had just got rid after 2012, then all of this would never of happened.

I believe almost all of what he says tbh

You can't be serious mate

Just get KP, Strauss, Flower, Prior & Downton on the Jeremy Kyle show where all these daft squabbles try to get sorted.

Just wait until he calls Colly a twat and says Durham is a shit hole.
He's seemingly like Colly. In that telegraph he mentions colly couldn't captain under moores and also vaughan.

" He denies, meanwhile, ever issuing the ECB a him-or-me ultimatum when he was the captain and Moores the coach: “It was never a him or me scenario. I said to Giles Clarke, in Chennai, in the room: 'Giles, please let me just go and bat. He can coach, no problem. Let me please just go and bat. I just cannot captain with this guy.’ Michael Vaughan couldn’t do it, Paul Collingwood couldn’t do it, but I’m the one who gets labelled with the big fall out with Moores.”

TBF, it was a f***ing disaster in Australia. And the latter took his ball home cos he was getting carted all over.

I must be the only one who thinks Michael vaughan is a bit of a plank, was a good captain at the time, but I just get the impression he is bitter that England have had a more successful side since he retired. He forgets that Strauss got more out of KP than he did, he scored more runs and provided more match winning performances.

England's whole game was attritional cricket, so obviously putting press on fielders not to give runs away was vitally important, and it worked

That is what I just don't get with any people backing up KP, whatever they did ........it worked. So there is absolutely no issue.

TBF, it was a f***ing disaster in Australia. And the latter took his ball home cos he was getting carted all over.

Aye but that was due to back to back ashes

remember normally, they would have a full 18 months to bask in the glory of being Ashes winners.

KP's whole point is mute, this culture, this bullying, it f***ing worked, it got us to the best side in the world, then our players started getting older, and the team came to an end..

Simple, no issues at all.

You can tell what is the woe is me, I'm a perfect angel routine and what appears to be truthful.

The chris tremlett tweet is rather interesting and aggers, atherton, nasser, vaughan have already spoken about the bowlers tirade at fielders for dropping catches.

Tbh I've always been under the impression that broad is a utter twat on the field. Him and Swann when ever they dropped a catch always were silent as mice yet on the other foot you could see them on camera glaring and shouting.

I just don't get this at all, who cares??? I hope they were, England's game was to play attritional cricket, and it worked, they were the best side in the world. The aim isn't to make friends like, you do whatever you need to get the team ethos geared up to winning. That is the point, even if they were harsh on fielders, its totally irrelevant, what ever they did......it worked!

KP likes Colly but I think it's Flintoff who has an issue with Colly. Don't know why.

I think most people have an issue with Flintoff, read quite a lot of cricketers books, and he comes across as a bit of a prick like.

Atherton has an issue with Colly, the fact being he achieved everything in cricket that Atherton wish he had.

KP doesn't even get enough credit for what he did man. There'd have been no Ashes 2005 and no T20 World Cup without him and that is fact.

Graeme Swann can fuck off. Any man who leaves an Ashes series half way through, uses the word 'codswallop' or calls his son Wilf should not be taken seriously.

After the way Swann deserted the sinking ship does anyone really care what he has to say?

KP is, was, does, did. You either like him so you accept his side of the story, or you hate him & accept the establishment version. In a nutshell no-one emerges from the wreckage with any scrap of credit in tact.
