6 down now and still not at 300. Lancs closing in on a second batting point as well. New ball has presumably done for us here.

Need to try and dig in and get to 400 and claim max batting points.

Lancs 250 up. Lead back to 12 points.

And back up to 13 again as we pass 300.

Bizzare picking A frontline batsman to bat 7 or 8. Does Muchall offer THAT much more than Breese with the bat assuming they come in down the order...?

Agreed seems little point especially when both breese and coughlin can bat and would have offered us another bowling option.
 
Amazing the difference a good knock makes. Borthwick seemed to be having a moderate season. Hes now 50 or so runs away from 1000 runs and one of the top scorers in the championship.

Borthwick just hit first 6 of our innings which is a little surprising given the very short boundary. 2 overs to go and we are 4 short of the 4th batting point.

EDIT - mustard gone, 346 for 7
 
Close of play 348-7.

Need 2 more for the next batting point and 52 off 14 overs for the 5th one. That's got to be our aim in the first instance as every point counts. We still lead Lancs by 12 points, but hopefully can stretch that to 14 in the morning.
 
decent day in the end from 40 odd for three. is borthwick not out?
