Just Booked Up For The Final

I'm going down on the day and booked up straight after the match on the train.

All of the standard fare tickets have gone so I had to book first class. Cost circa £60 for the bairn and £130 for me. Leaving on the 5am from Durham getting into Kings X at 8am or so. Leaving at 9pm that night.

I've also booked the match tickets via the Lords website. Durham fans are in the Compton Stand ie the nursery end where the media centre is. Me, the bairn and my mate are all in the Upper Tier. £50 each for the adults and £1 for the bairn.

I've gone for two tickets in the Grandstand upper tier, driving down on the Friday two nights at the Premier Inn Harrow £152

3 tickets in the Compton upper. Train from Durham at 6.13am. Back on the 9pm. Champion. All booked.

5am?

The bairn wants to be down for the gates opening at 9.15am! He'll not sleep anyway the night before and he can sleep on the train on the way down.
As long as he doesn't sleep during the game, I took my two aged six and nine to the Swindon play off final in 1990 , 6am start on the coach, the kids were bouncing, the little 'un slept through the match ( not a bad judge was he )

Im thinking about going down for it. Anyone know of any buses going down to Lords? I had looked in to National Express but it would mean getting the bus at 10.40 on the Friday night. I just wanna go down and come back in the same day

I'm sure some lads did this for the final. Megabus?

Get the Megabus from Newcastle. Leaves 1.40 am, gets in to Victoria at 8.00, perfect for breakfast and getting over to Lords. Return leaves at 10.30, back in the toon at 4.25. £14.50 return at the moment.

If you have Tesco Club card vouchers you can swap £7.25 worth. It's a long day but the bus isn't that bad, has WiFi and a toilet, and you save lots of beer money.

Or you could go down on the Mega bus and get the National Express straight back to Sunderland at 23.30, back in about 6.30 but it would cost you more and no Club card swapsies.

We've booked our accommodation. Driving down on Saturday morning to Stanmore, leaving the car at Stanmore station. Direct tube line into St Johns or you can get the bus about 45/50 mins. We've booked a Travelodge at Luton which is just near the M1, which was only £40 for the room so we're happy with that as the prices in London are absolutely shocking and unaffordable. Sorting tickets tomorrow as we'll need accessible tickets.
