Awesome chap. To think about all the moaning when he stood on benks . It needed doing ;)

Anyone think he's bowling faster these days? I was quite shocked when he was steaming in at the end of last season. Hopefully he's some kind of Benjamin button type character

He'll be a huge miss when he eventually retires. How do replace a guy like that? We won't have another for a long long time imo.

Yea I thought that in one of the recent 50 overs matches. After every ball he was grunting louder than a female tennis player. Not bad for a 38 year old.

Good captain's are like hen's teeth and they take time to develop. We should stick with Rocky as the ODI captain, he's the best chance we have at present and he has another year to develop more given that Colly is staying another year. (Unless any thinks there's another Benks out there in international land, that we could afford.)

An astonishing effect on the team from Colly. Especially as we looked lost at the bottom when he took over.

He will be very sorely missed indeed when he hangs his boots up. He is irreplaceable. We will need to be patient when that happens.

He'll be missed but I'm sure the First Team Coaches role will be his for however long he wants it when he does retire from playing.

He certainly wasn't by the time he got the push, so that wasn't an issue
Not sure about that i would have backed Benks to have got a whopping 640 championship runs at 35 this season tucked away at no6, and could have coached the side as well. What Durham would have missed is Collys bowling in one day cricket this season as it has been for the past 15 years outstanding.

dreadful thing to say even with a little yella face after it, colly and benks are both DCCC legends, no need to put them in opposite corners

Why not? It was the major talking point of the last few years

Nobody died. Someone got slightly miffed

nobody died aye, but it left a bad taste in the mouth, it is durham's loss that benks is no longer with the club and the way so many legends left durham without any kind of display of the difference they made to us - benks, diva even harmison, it would have been nice to see them given some kind of recognition for being partof turning us round from a joke of a club to a succesful powerhouse in the domestic game...

What kind of golden handshake does anyone get leaving a sporting club these days?

Not everyone could be accommodated on the budget.
