Do you think we're just trying to make a game of it? You would have hoped that after so many wickets falling earlier our key batsmen, especially openers, would have dug in deep and really concentrated on building an innings .....

They were raving about him after his first few overs in the last test.

He then went wicketless for loads of runs.

To be fair to him he's not the worst bowler we've seen this summer. He's decent I think. Deserved wickets at Southampton should've had one atleast here

What time will Close be seeing as there was a late start??

Still 10 overs left in the day after today

***Still 10 overs left in the day after this one.......

Going to lose 7 overs. f***ing joke that.

Evening all. Having a drink near the Quays. Had good chat with some familiar faces today. Reidy is top crack still, think Gus is topper. Bumble is hilarious and was very dapper today. Woakes is not a test cricketer and the jury is still out on Jordan. Watching Broad in full flow earlier, looked like one of the best in the world.

According to Cricinfo England's average test score at Old Trafford is 377 - that's going to be a tall order to keep up with unless our middle order batsmen all put in a good contribution. Hopefully, the lads will focus on the bowling they're facing, which doesn't look that good, rather than getting nervous about their places in the side - Jordan especially ....

Not a lot of positive comments on this thread given the state of the game. Surprisingly really. It could of course all turn to rat shit but so far England has had a great day.
