Similar to what Chelsea did with lukaku really. It helped him develop and they've made a profit on him but he could have easily played for them for a number of years.

Depend on where people think Onion was going to play, left of a midfield 3 or far out on the wing. With Ba going and Alf not far away, this could mean another CM could be brought in. Would like to see an attacking CM could in. Maybe Giac could do that ?

He could but when Gus was listing CMs the other day he seemed to imply he was only kind of going to be used for that position. I think we're maybe after a winger and another CM. Suspect the winger might end up as one of our loan signings based on nothing but a hunch.
 
Really hope this transfer happens, would be a great signing. (Plus i've got a £20 bet with my dad that he does)

Anyone else think Gus wants to play up him up front though?
I've seen a lot of people putting him out wide in their preferred line ups etc but i'm not sure that will be the case even though he played there a lot last season.

We've been linked with wingers like Rodriguez and Atsu, surely if one of them was to sign we'd have a front three of:

Johnson - Borini - ?

The thing is, if liverpool never leaked we had a bid accepted we probably wouldn't know about it. I say this because we were chasing rodwell for 6 weeks and never got to speak to him until 2 weeks ago. So it just shows how much has to be put into convincing a player also the time it takes to complete. Hopefully he ends up signing.

I would imagine we bring in another to play in the central 3 - someone a bit more attack minded. Hopefully someone with those bloody keys.
