Classic face saving process is this.......

  • Borini is injured
  • Rodgers states that it is just a bruise
  • Sunderland withdraw offer
  • Borini doesn't have to turn down Sunderland
  • Borini sold to the next bidder before deadline day.......
Will you be back when that turns out to be a load of bollocks? Doubt it.

Interesting quote from Brendan Rodgers on that liverpool forum '"He won't train now for the remainder of the trip here, but it's only going to be a matter of days before he's back training and playing again"'

Is this the sign that he IS coming?

A bruised shoulder keeps him out till deadline day? Give over marra

Well I obviously thought it was dislocated.

because I didn't want him to come that badly, he's just an ok player in my book, nothing special, and not a chance is that the going rate for a player like him, we should be buying 2 players for that price, it'll be the same old Sunderland, pay top dollar, then in 2 seasons time when he isn't scoring goals, we'll get rid at a massively cut down price.

Fair enough. The way I see it, he's a proven good player for us, had a big impact last season and is also young. Obviously you need to baulk at a certain number, but I don't think a figure potentially rising to £14m is particularly extortionate.

I think it is, if he hasnt made his mind up yet then liverpool playing him is showing a lack of respect. If it was the last few games in the prem and they were short of strikers it would be different, the fact is its meaningless preseason games early pre season games that mean little.

I dunno, he's a Liverpool player so they're given him a run out in a friendly. I don't really see the big deal.

We move on. It's Liverpool's daft fault for playing him. Perhaps They didn't want to sell. The whole situation is ridiculous, it's typical that it's happening to us.

What's typical of happening to us? You've been saying on here how he doesn't want to join us (and won't), so what difference does an injury make?

You're reading too much into that marra.

Maybe he is waiting to see if anyone else comes in for him as we are a bit of step down from Roma and Liverpool and he'll want to play at the highest level possible. Can't really blame the lad for that

Of course it applies to Rodgers. Name a single player he has played in a friendly the day after accepting a bid especially one for a lot of money.
Playing players you haven't accepted offers for is common sense and usual.
He took Downing on pre season tour after accepting an offer.

The never ending circle of Borini chatter, twenty seven full circles so far.

BTW did Remy have a buyout clause

Problem is though no-one else will pay more than about 8 for him - if that.

Is anyone actually even following this thread anymore? I've only read it about 3 times when it was 8 pages then 60 pages then 180 pages...
