Makes our bid for Borini look like a hell of a bargain!

27 so most likely in or around his peak.

So we'd have to wait 3-4 years for Borini to hit his peak? We'd probably only give him a two year contract the way we do things.

It would have been £8.5m for us too, he wouldn't have signed though if there was interest from Champions League teams.
There was a sliding scale. From around 8th down it was around £15m.

no only champions league teams

Liverpool are close to signing Loïc Rémy after agreeing a fee in the region of £8 million for the Queens Park Rangers striker.
The France striker has been given permission to speak to the Barclays Premier League runners-up after they met the release fee in Rémy’s contract, which allows him to speak to clubs in the Champions League if they meet the agreed price.

No there were different release clauses depending if signing for a side in the champions league, europa league and everyone else in the prem.

Jesus H Christ.......that is f***ing ludicrous. I hope Ellis has earmarked about £50m for rebuilding as he'll need to if prices keep going mental like this. The fella is a £5m top whack player.

The fees are going ludicrous because TV money is. It's all relative.

this is why foreign players are taking over our game - nee-one can afford to buy from british clubs cos they're all very aware that all prem clubs will be loaded. if it's a prem to prem transfer the effect is even worse cos' there's no need for a club to sell anymore, even with ffp.

the only way to get a bargain these days it to find players in their last year of a contract. for this reason i'm expecting wickham to be sold before the season starts so we can at least get some cash for him

if he keeps dragging his feet / we won't match his demands he'll be gone for next to nowt in jan
