No its not.

We have someone who wants to come, know what his job is, will only get better, is the model pro

Who else do we go for? 2 more risks from abroad? It worked well with Altidore or Giach

Or how about someone from home, like Snodgrass and McCormack? combined fee of nearly 20 million there

Ben Davies is going to Spurs for 10 million, Luke Shaw cost over 30 mill!

Wise up mate
you won't convince some people, if we went cheap they would be no good because they're cheap. Without a big enough bid Liverpool wouldnt sell

For £14m i'd expect a little bit more than 4 goals from open play.

You can make excuses all you want but that isn't a very good record.

I hope he proves me wrong mind, but I get the feeling the pricetag will be thrown at him by a lot of Sunderland fans. Especially if we struggle

Well that is where you are completely and utterly wrong

Rightly or wrongly, if he signs, he will get virtually no criticism off the majority of Sunderland fans, no matter how bad he played.

Fulham have spunked 11m on a striker who is IMO not premier league class. We've have a fee which if he meets targets will reach 14m. He's proved he can play in this division, he fits in with how the manager wants to play, it's as low risk 14m that we are ever likely to spend.

Thing is, I think we have paid more than he is worth, most people probably would admit that, but its not our money, he wants to come, and we want him. A player is only worth what you are willing to pay, and Poyet and the hierarchy want this lad, so he is worth it.

By you by the looks of things. We will get more goals from open play than last season as simply put he will play more games then last year.

14m sounds steep, but if it's a 5 year deal, and considering his age + low level of risk, it's probably about right.

So he's going to have someone up front with him in a 4-4-2? If he plays up top with Wickham it will work aye but he looks like he's off.

Pretty much confirms you didn't watch us last season. He will play the same role on the left of the attacking three. He will not be expected to score 25 goals except by people who don't understand the system we play or how much 25 goal a season strikers cost.

Gross waste of money. When we don't sign anyone else because we have no money you'll be moaning on here.

It's called throwing all of your eggs in one basket. It's called not having money for anyone else. It's called being ripped off.

Here's a question.

Would you prefer One quality player that has a big impact or 3 or 4 poor/average who contribute very little and we are then stuck with for years?

At the going rate hes worth around 8-10m, weve paid 12m plus add ons.
