got it on live updates on bbc sport

anyone watching it on telly?
Yup, everyone on Sky reckons bat first, lush green wicket and humid. They also reckon it will be great to bat on tomorrow when the grass dies, not many cracks so they expect it to be pacier than the game v Sri Lanka.

Strange putting them in like. My take on that would be Cook is so short of confidence he didnt was to be first up.

Fingers crossed we can make the green top count.

Watching it on Sky. Can only assume Cook wants to see what type of score is decent on this pitch. Lords always flattens out after 30 overs or so.

If you win the toss and its clear blue skies and a dry pitch, bat! If you win the toss and its cloudy, grey and with a hint of green on the wicket, pause for a few moments, then still bat!

Warnie

Think that's a bit harsh, if ever you are going to bowl first it's on this wicket

Never liked the idea of batting 4th mate.

Not at Lords.

Correct. Lords is always a bat first pitch.

It's always a concern but I don't think this wicket will deteriorate, their only spinner is Jadeja. Think England will be aiming to get them out cheaply, bat at the best time and not have to bat again. I hope they're right!

Not at Lords.

Well, we're about to find out.

Well, we're about to find out.

Indeed. Pitch will look good until after lunch then it will just flatten.

Well held young Ballance. Need a couple more this morning.

What about if we get none in the first session then 10 in the next? Will it still be a bad decision?

The Lords pitch flattens out after lunch, it's unlikely to have anywhere near the same movement as it does on a morning.
