Sunday Times believe he will be called up for the second test

If true, it's probably a good thing. He was dog shit against the Aussies (I was at the Oval that day so qualified to comment, genuinely, anyone who disagrees and wasn't there can fuck off)

We need a spinner and he has the best county record. The longer we leave him, the longer he will mull on last year

Its not as if we have a great deal of choice.

Monty - off the field problems and not getting games or wickets at county level.

Borthwick - Still working on his spin bowling and questions on where he'd bat too.

Kerrigan, I suppose is the next man up. Would like to see a bit of Adam Riley though.

Harsh on Borthwick seeing as he stepped up to the mark while Kerrigan choked on a spin-friendly pitch.

Nobody. I'd insist all groundsmen prepare seaming green tops and play the same side. Clearly that message hasn't f***ing got across this summer so far though.
Counties can't afford to do that though, so a realistic opinion was what I was after.

agreed mate,

they way this game is just crawling to a draw is just a waste of everyone's time.

The ECB need to be harder on them then. Prepare a poor pitch and lose Test matches. This Trent Bridge pitch is a f***ing disgrace. Surely grounds want England to win Test matches...... The best thing for that in this instance is to take India out of their comfort zone.

And in the winter?

There isn't a spinner of note, but we need one eventually

We don't play anyone this winter pal. So in the meantime the ECB should get three or four lads on some kind of development tour somewhere.

West Indies next March, you could throw anyone in for that - providing they have a development tour/plan.

Was generic by winter but I see your point

We need some kind of spinner like.

They need to charge them less and help them rather than crippling them and forcing them into producing 5 day pitches. It's ridiculous counties have to bid for test matches.
