Was going to watch the last wicket fall and make the most of a saturday off by going for a long bike ride. 2 hours 15 mins and 2 sausage sarnies later im still sat here and considering what time to gan to the pub.

Unhealthy business, these world record stands.

Cos he is a specialist batsman who averages 30 at test level, mostly against B-list teams and all.

Jimmy won't be there for three hours or 150 balls I am pretty confident of that.

:lol::lol:

soz but i read that before i fell asleep last night and checked the score

Now for the serious post even though Im over the moon for Jimmy he deserves a knock like this.

But for there to be 2 10th wicket ton partnerships and 2 50s by number 11s for the first time in the history in Test cricket is an absolute disgrace.

This pitch is god damn awful and the ECB policy for awarding test matches has to be looked at. It causes the counties to make these shite 5 day pitches. Something has to change because this is becoming a far too regular occurence when the conditions are great.

Is it just easier to create good pitches these days? Drainage in all test grounds in England over the last few years are completely different to what they were 5-10 years ago even reading the Durham threads it's more to do with overhead conditions when wickets are falling quickly than the pitch doing anything, and due to us having a pretty hot and dry summer so far it just all amounts up to this kind of pitch.
