God they're banging right on about the pitch and how it is all fine etc... variable bounce within the first few overs of day one and continuing all through the match, aye it is all fine :rolleyes:
 
Think our best option is to be positive. If the pitch is doing things then to me there's no point blocking until one comes down with your name on it. We're 129 behind and if the lads can score some runs, rotate the strike and pick the bad balls off we'll have a lead by about 2 and then runs will count for double.

as i posted, it was staying low in the third over of day one, i posted this at teh start of the match, 2 stayed low and two spat up withinthe first 10-20 balls of the game.... marty was just talking about it, it has been used once by the seconds and they did some weird treatment to it that i forget the name of to put big holes in it and it has cracked up savagely, basically they made a minefield and prayed to win the toss so they could bat first... unfortunatly we won teh toss and pit them in anyway.

Jack Birkinshaw the pitch inspector was on the field before the start of play talking with the groundsman whilst looking at the pitch, but it might be just coincidence as he was also at our last game at the Riverside and went on the pitch with Scott Borthwick while he was doing some bowling practice.

When was the last time anyone was penalised for a pitch?? Seems like the job of Pitch Inspector just entitles you to free cricket and a lot of lunches :lol:
 
The amount of variable bounce we've seen in this game is uncommon, but it's the seam movement off the pitch that's done the damage. A lot of wickets have fallen to balls where the batsmans not offered a shot.
 
What happened to the bad weather that was supposed to save us?
