Think this may help : -

The wicket, not the legs, is the bowler's target, and is all he must aim for.

I'ver lifted this from a BBC page Any good?
Thats a superb point actually. But as a right hander bowling at a left hander the target of hitting the stumps becomes incredibly small. And if marginally outside the line that equals not out. Bit of a harsh rule but thems the rules I suppose.

Which is why bowlers who angle the ball in tend to come around the wicket rather than over it to a LHB - by changing the angle of delivery it gives them more to aim for and improves the chances of an LBW being given. All good stuff - superb innings by Root. Really pleased the team allowed him to get there and a target of 376 to avoid the follow on is healthy.

Very rare to get an LBW going around the wicket to a lefty mind.

As a lefty myself I much prefer bowlers going around the wicket as you invariably get yourself outside the line, and if not it goes down leg on the angle. The only way you can get out LBW is if it's very full or if it straightens a lot.

They were never going to give it when had to zoom in that much.

That's one thing I dont like about the latest technology use in cricket. The amount of times batmen get given the benefit of doubt in close calls in catches. What they don't seem to understand is that you can have your fingers under the ball at the time of impact so it looks like its hit the floor.

I thought silva was out like. The on field umpires have to take the blame. They should be more decisive in these instances instead of passing the buck and hiding behind the 3rd umprire

More likely a home win IMO

He is better but I've always had a soft spot for Sangakkara (in a none gay way of course). Him, Yousuf and Amla are the ones I've enjoyed watching most.

Thing is, Sangakkara is still putting big scores on the board, Jayawardene isn't...

Both amazing batsman mind...
