Easy to slate a player, but how can a first class professional cricketer even contemplate playing a shot like that, schoolboy cricket.

You're right, especially on his home ground too. First match nerves may have played a part.

Bloody hell, so root, cook and now ballance can't play on the front foot.

f***ing great stuff

To be fair, until he got out I thought Ballance played well technically.

Great run-rate mind. Mainly due to Bell playing some positive shots - perhaps a lesson to the others?

45 dot balls in 63 balls.

Should the inexperienced Ballance bat at 3?

The man who single handely won us the ashes last summer?
There was no batting crisis back then, times have changed pretty fast

He has openly said he will bat anywhere for England many times.

Captain/coach like to keep him down the order for stability if the wankers up the top fail.

It makes perfect sense anyway as now he's our best player...
You've just given the perfect reason why he should be at 3

Your best batsman should generally be at 3, especially when those around him are much weaker

its not up to him where he bats and he is more comfortable at 4 don't see the issue

Michael Clarke is Aus best batsman but he doesn't bat at 3....
