Hello everyone,
I'm coming up to the game on the 15th, and I was just wondering a few things. Firstly, how long are the queues at the stadium of light metro station after the game, and am I likely to be able to get to newcastle by 7. Could you also recommend any places to eat around the stadium/sunderland area, and are there any away friendly pubs around?
Thanks

Walk into town and get the metro from Sunderland Central station.

It's a 25 minute journey to newcastle on the metro

Hi mate. Easily get to Newcastle within an hour.
Asiana is a lovely restaurant 10 mins walk from the sol.
Pubs much of a muchness, google the lambton worm and theres a dozen others within spitting distance. 20 mins walk from the stadium.
Ps, hope we muller yous as were fecked otherwise.

You will easily make it back for 7pm to Newcastle using the metro. You have to use the Stadium of Light station to head north (not St Peters).

Numerous decent eateries in the city centre which is only a five minute walk over the Wearmouth bridge from the stadium. Depends on your tastes which place Id recommend.

You'd also have no bother in the vast majority of city centre pubs as long as you arent acting up. If you want a traditional pub with ales and a good atmosphere then the Isis is a good option (a short walk from the Sunderland Empire).

Most people are long gone with 10 minutes to go so you should have the platform to yourself!
Seriously though, you'll get to newcastle for 7 no problems at all. You could probably walk the f**ker in that time.

St peters station is nearer to the ground, theres plenty bars in the city centre in eat and drink and its only 10 minutes walk from the ground

All pubs in sunderland are away friendly, if you want someone to beat up, go in the deaf club on north bridge st. Loads of disabled fans for yous to pick on in there.

Asiana - one notch up from an all you can eat buffet at best!

The Jacksons is very close to the ground, serves a nice pint and is away friendly.

Thanks for the advice, I don't know much about the play off events as I was only 7 at the time :/ There will always be the some who are intent on causing trouble, and if anything like that happened again I would be ashamed to support palace
