Talking Angela App- Threat to kids

Funnily enough. Around 6 years ago a mate if mine did get jabbed with a hypodermic needle on a stag weekend in Liverpool. Sharp pain in his arm whilst stood beside the bar in a nightclub, looked down and it was just hanging out if his arm.

Never caught the lad/lass that did it, nor did he catch anything but it does happen.

What does happen?

Having read what's been said and had a look at the app I agree it does seem like a load of bollocks.
However it was the first I'd heard of it and thought I'd try and warn others who may not have heard.
My mistake for diving in.
As for thinking it was the police, I didn't make it up but I was obviously mistaken or misheard. Again my apologies.

Happens all the time tho, just in some instances the police send out warnings as a safety measure so they don't get knocked for missing it...easier to apologise to an app developer (and have it brushed under the carpet) than a zillion angry parents :)

As a rule, stuff like this is almost ALWAYS a hoax (by competitors mainly...)

In all honesty I read it on the parsnip board and posted it here.

It's scary that anyone would think it rational or acceptable at any level to respond like this to a warning.

Given police and child protection resources are not unlimited and it's not helping children to damage people and businesses who are completely innocent, why the fuck would it be OK to just sling out a warning without checking?

It's not - not in the slightest! Just saying that is what they DO.

Guilty until proven innocent in this country remember!

People getting jabbed by needles.

Not the sticker and aids part.

Ah right, yeah, that'll happen sometimes. It'll be almost impossible to get AIDS from it, because even in the unlikely event the previous user had AIDS, the live virus doesn't live very long.

ha'way man, give the OP a break - you're acting as if government agencies blindly passing on unsubstantiated libelous scare-stories about artificially intelligent pedo-cats that they've picked up on Mumsnet isn't the most natural thing in the world!
