Depends where you are in the ground. I was in the south stand and it was very loud in there, but obviously we couldn't really hear united fans, and i assume they wouldnt be able to hear us well. If youre sat in the north stand or corners you'll hear united fans more, obviously.

we were loud but the mancs sang more

:):)

Haha wonder why. Try "Sunderland" next time ;)

Will do!!
My dream is for the whole stand to unite for a chant of "East Stand Aggro, East Stand Aggro, Hello, Hello"

Joking aside, I don't always go in there and even though they're generally a subdued bunch they're all red n white through and through.

Are you pulling my leg??
I was in the East Stand:))) and Man Utd sang throughout the whole game with barely a break. They completely and totally out sang Sunderland the whole game from start to finish.
I heard a few muffled chants from the South Stand and only realised they were singing at first because some people had their arms out. Steven Taylor song was one and possibly Wise Men Say was the other.

This wouldn't have happened years ago, and certainly not at Roker Park. We've become a soft touch at home, outside the ground and inside the ground.

Apologies, i also heard a subdued chant of things can only get better also.

Most grounds I go to in Europe are the same when it comes to away fans out singing the home fans. The away fans are that clubs hardcore, are seated together and are usually in groups with there pals.

I sit next to 3 woman, couple kids and about 10 blokes who are all retired - hardly the make up you need for an atmosphere that's bouncing for 90 mins.

We out sing every fucker when we are away from home(90% of the time)

That's exactly why i clearly stated a few times our "home" fans have become a soft touch. I could only make educated guesses and gut feelings for the reasons but they wouldn't alter the facts that things have definitely changed, regardless what others say.

I know what you said mate I can read a little you know ;)

what I'm saying is that most home fans in football are a soft touch. Not just our fans are out sang every game, man-utd have 70k plus being out sang every game, as do arsenal etc etc etc - it's not exclusive to safc

Only way it would change is if we went down the route the Germans have, which I'd rather we didn't - as much as I like going to there games it feels rather regimented and a tad fake at times..

Thought the atmosphere was very good at times. Watching it back it's all United though.

That 'Gustavo Poyet' chant is proper catchy, as is the Borini one

In my opinion one of the main reasons is numbered seats/allocated seats. That makes a difference.
Also, it's far more of a chew on for a group of random disorganised blokes to sort out going to the match. Even going to shit games now needs nearly as much organising as a semi-final in years gone by. Some people just can't be bothered with the f**k on.

I agree, to many pockets of fans who want to sing are surrounded by those that don't.

The old guys near me are top blokes, thing is they just wanna chill with a sandwich and a cuppa. They cba to stand singing these days, if you try to they whinge on a bit so most near me don't even bother trying.

Away games are where it's at, some times I stand back when we are away and take in all the noise/atmosphere we create - second to none.

Watched it all back today and for me it doesn't give a true representation of what it was like at the game! Man U sounded really loud all game on sky with us just filtering in and out, but I know from being in the SS last night that we where loud as f*ck and never stopped all game!! Maybe it's more to do with where sky place their microphones???

4 minutes into a semi final and possibly the worst thing ever at either Roker or the Ssol.
Absolutely pathetic.
If someone next to your chants it, punch him or her in the gob immediately.
its nothing short of embarrasing to be honest mate, i never sing songs about newcastle unless we are playing them, and people say the mags are obsessed with us...

This. Yet have a % who stand there in silence when loads of chants are on the go and then only pipe up when its an anti mag song. Pathetic.

Is that really the song ????

If so that is very embarrassing, must of taken ages for whoever came up with that.
Im sure anyopne over 12 would be too embarrassed to chant that

Ha'way mate, you're hardly in any position to be giving shit to people for embarrassing chants.

And I think this is my favourite...
