To be fair Root has not looked convincing at all
And Carberry, for all his faults, has looked comfortable against Johnson

Genuinely can't understand why they've dropped Root and Carberry is still in there.

Short sighted - Carberry isn't going to be around for the next Ashes. Root has been shunted up and down the order in his short career and shown his ability with the big hundred in the summer yet they drop him at the first sign of a dip in form
