He's obviously not completely shit, he's had some good games. He does have some serious limitations alright... but I don't think with the position we're in, he could run around a bit more, close down defenders, help us press high up.
He gets poor service but he doesn't help enough. He doesn't attack crosses...ever, which is a pity. But he is low on confidence... that chance that he missed in the first half, where he took a touch. I bet he'd have buried that if he was playing for the US or back in Holland.

Fletcher's movement was a million times better than Altidire when he came on.

Now maybe he shouldn't be on twitter if he can't take the abuse... and he probably shouldn't pay attention to it. But most sportspeople thrive on confidence.
And that's a stupid comment really, scoring goals isn't that easy, f***ing hell. I agree he should be doing better than he is but none of our team look like scoring at the moment. If we're going to start with Altidore, we should play to his strengths- have him running into the channels between the full-back and centre-back... that's where he looks like he can do damage. Get him turned and running towards goal...

Even though we've barely progressed since we came back up 6 years ago we've had some decent strikers......Jones, Gyan, Bent, Wellbeck, Sess, Bendtner and Fletcher...it's why the poor ones like Jozy, Healy, Fraizer, Chopra and Prica got so much stick.
