John O’Shea is a bit of an enigma for me. His pedigree is undeniable with nearly 400 appearances for the most successful side of this generation and no fewer than 10 major domestic and European winners’ medals. So why is it that, at least in my opinion, he just doesn’t cut it as a Sunderland centre back and captain?

Nothing enigmatic about being in a side surrounded by 10 players with more talent than yourself.

When will people realise that half decent players look good in a good side and decidedly average in a bad side.
Lionel Messi would not score thirty goals a season playing in our current side.

Hes the 21st century Alan Kennedy...........that could be the beginning of a "rap"!.

Hes the 21st century
Alan Kennedy
Though hes not as quick
Or as much of a prick
As Phil Jock Bardsley
They both earn more than me
Though that dont give me the right
To post that theyve played shite

He's just getting old and slow. Unfortunately this is a very fast league.

Well in my opinion he does a good job and we would be poorer without him if that is possible.

Hes the 21st century Alan Kennedy.........

this reminded me of the story when Bob Paisley got into the dressing room at half time on Alan Kennedy's first game for Liverpool - looked at him and said "Eeee - I think they shot the wrang Kennedy"

What we want is for Bally to become our Bob Paisley. Do dreams come true?

I went to watch Man U a few times a few years back when me mate had a couple season tickets and his Da couldn't go. I remember commenting on O'Shea numerous times - challenging how absolutely shite he looked and to me looked a million miles out of his depth.

Thought he would do alright for us, and sometimes I think he is canny. Not often enough though.

He is a slow player with experience who we play alongside a slow player with experience or inexperienced players who are also slow.
