am I missing some thing? Since when did counties produce pitches to suit the oppositions? And why should teams produce batting pitches that are likely to end in a draw?

How can a true cricket supporter HATE other cricketers and supporters? And how can ANYONE hate Durham CCC ?

Their elevation to 1st Class has been a breath of fresh air, the best thing that has happened to English cricket for decades. It took them a few years to find their feet, but now they're self-sufficient, producing a constant stream of young players from their area. If they have border-raided the Middlesbrough area, that's our fault not theirs.

As for the pitches, remember Surrey with Laker and Lock? Kent with Underwood? Notts with Hadlee and Rice? It's called skilful groundsmanship, and an area in which YCCC is currently deficient. I have attended every Yorks LVCC game this season. The pitches at Edgbaston and Lord's, plus overhead conditions, favoured seam bowling. Our lads took full advantage, and we won. A well-grassed pitch at Chesterfield, same again. Then at Trent Bridge, you couldn't tell where the game was going to be played until they put the stumps in on the first morning. Our bowlers were good, theirs were not, and we won.

The pitch at Chester-le-Street was one of the flatter ones, especially for early season. We were set a big total to chase, and we got them, against Onions and all.

The only really flat pitches I've seen this season have been at Headingley and Scarborough, and Durham were good enough to win on the one at Scarborough. They were the better team over the four days.

What is there to complain about?

I totally agree.

PS - I would Luv it we beat them. Luv it!!!![DOUBLEPOST=1378308763][/DOUBLEPOST]22 overs left today I make it. Should get past 200 tonight and be 340 ish ahead. Given the forecast I would be tempted to declare at that point and take our chances.

To be fair, my skewed view of Yorkies and Aussies comes from the same root: Years (decades) of getting thumped and having the arrogant pricks be some of the most ungracious winners anyone would ever see. I love to see these two sides in particular get absolutely annihilated, and I make no apologies for it.
 
The fact its forecast to rain on Friday is annoying as otherwise we could just bat on here till we are all out (which probably won't be that long anyway), and set them an even higher total. Plus we would have an extra day to skittle them. At this rate we are almost going to have to declare tonight or early in the morning to give us the time to bowl them out.[DOUBLEPOST=1378309798][/DOUBLEPOST]Lead is 300
