stokes averages 22 in championship gets no criticism and people suggest he should be in englands team and without looking that's probs better than colly and smith as well

I don't disagree with you. It doesn't change the fact that Durham have massive problems at the top of their order.

Muchall and breese should have had a look in going on their recent form. What's the deal with Richardson? In as a batsman but behind the wkt keeper in the order. Isn't that where alrounders and bowlers normally go?

second highest of averages in championship for us yet stokes colly etc escape critisism

You mustn't come on here much if you think that's true.

Collingwood comes under regular scrutiny for his poor batting form and most of us are baffled as to why Stokes can't seem to make any runs this season.

need a overseas opener next season and maybe another signing from somewhere don't think we have the money though

Yep, two batsmen definitely. To lose players like Di Venuto, Chanderpaul and even Blackwell who were pretty much guaranteed runs is tough, not to mention missing Benkenstein who always got us out of trouble. Too many of the remaining players out of form.

Good recovery here mind from Borthwick and Jennings: 63-1

Its true enough but a bit of context. Facing the new ball at Durham, at the Riverside is the toughest challenge for any cricketer in the first class game. Durham have the players they have, the financial situation means they aren't going to be bringing in quality from elsewhere yet by and large as a team we are still managing to score enough runs to keep us competitive.

People need to remember we play on one if the worst batting decks in FC cricket when looking at the stats. The only real batsmen we have brought through the ranks all the way to international level is Colly, and look at how much better his test record is than his actual record for Durham.

For this reason I still believe Stokes should be in amongst it and would actually have more chance making runs in an Oval Ashes Test than playing Surrey on a green topper at the Riverside!

We're going to have to score at nearly five an over to get maximum batting points. The mere fact I'm thinking about maximum batting points is a testament to the lads for getting us to the position we're in right now [DOUBLEPOST=1377186002][/DOUBLEPOST]Well batted Scotty!! NOW DOUBLE IT (Before the Close):lol:
