[BBC] Miners' Di Canio protest 'will only end with Sunderland campaign support'

Why has the great community work that The SAFC Foundation does, the support for Kick it Out and Show Rascism the Red Card and all of the other great stuff that the club does been seemingly disregarded by the DMA in all of this? They seem to want the club to support them in a political stance, seems a but silly to me.

That's just one side of the argument, tbf. Far right wing politics is just as bad. It's all explained in Orwell's Animal Farm - an easy read of less than 100 pages.

Much better explained by Isaiah Berlin: when you think your view of the world is the truth, then in the political sphere it becomes worth killing for (whether carting dissenters off to camps or armed left-wing revolution) - the end justifies the means.

You may mock, but just let's see. The Nazi party started with a few blokes meeting in a back room of a Munich pub.
The younger generation do not see. If they're asked a question about the past they reply: "before my time, mate." They are historically illiterate.
Fascists will latch on to the least bit of support they can see.
Another bandwagon jumper......................

1. There are absolutely no similarities in either the social or economic situation at the time if the Beer Hall Putsch. It was those extreme conditions and the bitter political competition between the left and right wing parties which provided the breeding ground for National Socialism, lets not forget the apathy of the rest of Europe who were to busy looking after their own interests at the material time.

2. Don't assume all the 'younger generation' have the mindset you describe. They are not historically illiterate - maybe its just that they have a life and dont want to engage with someone they find boring or intolerent of their age group, maybe they've been told not to talk to strangers, or it may be that modern history is now part of the A level/further education standard - as with my local education authority.

3. For Fascists, read any extremists......... FFS

Subsequently, please consider your rationlisation before coming out with such arrogant, abusive and narrow minded bullshit.

Durham Miners Hatred Campaign

I think they have gone too far with the current post on Facebook:

Phot in question:

I have reported it to Facebook but I think people should express their dislike of this viscious antiSAFC anti Di Canio business

Brilliant post.

You have managed to be ignorant, silly, judgmental, condescending and completely incorrect all in one short missive.

Not better like.

Right-o, mate.

Think Orwell was specifically saying that power corrupts, which is right, and fairly obvious by the way considering we see it every day in our lives; and this was already known for centuries (see Edmund Burke 1790s and it is one of the founding principles of the United States).

Berlin went one better and explained why a liberal democracy is essential for some sort of peaceful co-existence; and why armed revolution is not the answer to any problem.

Anar that man. It is the clear simplicity from a short and imminently readable book about a farm that is so brilliant.

No actual mention of him but he did say he's stopped his kids having Alphabetti Spaghetti in protest over Sunderland's new head coach.

He says it's caused him all kinds of problems as he used to spell out a 'Thought for the day' such as 'The workers hold the keys of production except when the Chinese make it twice as quick for half the money' or, 'Eat your f***ing breakfast you little bastards'.
:-D:-D
Only third page of the thread but you're in danger of becoming my favourite poster on here young Subbie.

A football club should not be joining any lobby bodies or groups that are pro or anit a particular political ideology. A club can join as many lobby bodies or groups on specific social matters, such as pro-equality, anti-racism, pro-LGBT and all that jazz.

The DMA can protest as much as they want, and keep calling for Sunderland AFC to join an anti-fascism group. But the club should say no.

These people need to either get a proper job, a lass or a life.

What gives these ' petty dictators' the idea that they can control people's thoughts?

Is this 2013 or '1984'?

Exactly. They need to accept they have no industry to support now so their little club of fat, bald bitter men and their flag waving shit has no meaning, relevance or point.
