Sounds like you're thinking of Eppleton CW's who played in the Coast league but folded some years back. Eppleton played in the DSL and their ground is on Church Road near to where the colliery was.

Eppleton putting a decent team together for the new season. Looking forward to a new challenge in NEPL Div 1.
